Open Question: Car temperature gauge reads hot when idling?

i own a honda civic LE 2001 I've had this problem for almost 8 month my mechanic has change the thermostat, a sensor, the water pump the cooling looks good... but i feel like his guessing.... I'm worry i don't want to buy a new car because i can't afford payments my car still looks good but I'm desperate i don't know what to do...
