Open Question: Is this a good deal for a used car?

I'm considering buying a used car and have it narrowed down to two. I'm leaning more towards a 1998 honda civic 2-door with 178k miles because it's about 3,500 dollars a lot less than my other option a 2003 pontiac grand prix. I'm leaning towards the civic mostly for cosmetic reasons but I want to make sure that if I get the civic it won't me a bad investment.
